An Ode To Lost

10 Reasons Why I Love LOST

1. Jack! The dreamy doctor with a heart of absolute gold. I swoon. Could be the tattoo.

2. It makes me thankful that I have a change of clothes and a hot shower.

3. There’s enough soap-operay “who’s gonna hook up with who” tension to satisfy.

4. I love me some religious allegory.

5. My All Time Favorite Character, Charlie!

He’s just so cute!

6. The music is so. damned. freaky.

7. Twists and turns are what runs the plot in LOST town. You can count on something batshit crazy happening at least once every 3 episodes

8. Hot Iraqi Soldiers. DROOOL.

9. So far, this is the only show I’ve managed to hook my boyfriend with. Which means it’s actiony enough for a man, but smart and interesting enough for a girl.

(Forgive me. I’m unabashedly sexists lately. I don’t feel particularly bad about it yet.)

Plus, I love having conversations with him that involve the phrases “oh my God, can you believe….” or “When are you going to get Season Three?” It’s like I just convinced someone to start smoking crack with me, after almost five years of trying.

Not that I smoke crack.

10. I think I read this in an Entertainment Weekly once, but it was pretty right on: Lost isn’t a TV show. It’s a mindfuck. I mean… it’s a mind-puzzle. It’s not a sit on your butt and enjoy the story show; there are clues, there are theories. It’s freaking interactive people!

One Big Fat Reason I Hate LOST

1. I’M TWO SEASONS BEHIND AND MY PARENTS ARE WATCHING UPSTAIRS AND THE DVR’S BUSTED SO THEY CAN’T PAUSE AND I AM LITERALLY TRAPPED IN MY ROOM FOR THE THREE HOUR PREMIERE!

Three hours. What in the world is that all about? I can’t even get a flipping drink of water without seeing somebody falling out of something… GAH!

P.S. If any of you spoil me, or tell me my favorite characters are dead, I’ll punch you in the forehead. I lost my first set of favorite characters in the first two seasons, soooooo don’t ruin my day.

I’ll just be here. In my room. Reading a book that just got reallyREALLY interesting. Being cold because my room is the coldest in the house, I’m a moron and put my bed by a window without a storm window (frozen memory foam, anyone?), and oh… the high for tomorrow is zero. ZERO. Awesome.

  1. LOST is one of those shows that I honestly get emotionally involved in like I actually know Jack and Kate and totally own all of Charlie’s records from his band days. I often have to remind myself that they aren’t real but this is after having an hour long after episode discussion with a friend about what they heck all the messages mean and and our lastest theories on what is happening on the island.

I don’t know where you are in the seasons, but you really should get caught up. It just gets crazier and even better!
